Learn Around the World.
In the 2002 - 2003 school year, 18 Bermuda schools followed Alan Paris and BTC Velocity around the world on his historic 30,000 mile single-handed circumnavigation. Using a multi disciplinary programme facilitated by the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute's Education Department, children became virtual explorers with questions and answers sent via satellite throughout the voyage. This programme combined the natural curiosity of school age children, with a real life sporting event.
